In our Dental Assisting program, students learn to become a productive member of the Dental Health Team.

Dental assisting involves personal contact, and with this personal interaction comes the personal satisfaction of knowing you’ve really helped someone by providing a valuable health service to them. You will assist the dentist in a variety of procedures, take x-rays, teach adults and children proper oral hygiene and take impressions (models) of teeth. You will be prepared to sit for the Ohio Dental Assistant Certification Exam sponsored by the Commission on Ohio Dental Assistant Certification, Inc.

Dental Anatomy and Pathology • Dental Terminology • Radiology (X-ray) procedures • Dental Specialties • Manipulating cements and impression materials • Sterilizing equipment • Patient Teaching • Employability Skills • Communication Skills • CPR
