Minimum Requirements: |
|
Valid optician certification/licensure in the
State of Ohio. Valid contact lens
certification. Associate degree; bachelors
degree preferred. At least five years full-time
work experience in the field of Opticianry,
three of which must be the most recent. Ability
to teach and manage an optical lab and theory
classes, teach technical skills in the lab
situation, and instruct students in the theory
related to the opticianry field. Eligible for
licensure in the State of Ohio to teach the
070603 curriculum. Ability to work with
students having a wide range of abilities and
skill levels. Desire to motivate and assist
young people in setting educational, social and
behavioral goals. Ability to communicate
effectively both orally and in writing. Sincere
interest and a commitment to work with students,
parents, staff, business partners, community
organizations, and associate schools. Team
player -- willingness to work effectively in a
team environment. |

Desirable Qualifications: |
|
Licensed as a Doctor of Optometry in the State
of Ohio. Previous teaching experience,
preferably in a career & technical setting.
Knowledge of instructional techniques and first
aid. |
|
